Jena Sternberg
M.A., LPC

Hi! I'm Jena Sternberg, EMDR and Somatic Counselor at Beyond the Veil.

I offer an integrative counseling approach that goes beyond traditional therapy. Since 2014, I aim to create a compassionate, authentic and supportive environment that promotes growth and healing for my clients, allowing them to feel comfortable and accepted.  I specialize in working with individuals struggling with trauma, limiting beliefs, depression, anxiety, communication issues, women’s issues, and chronic pain. I am honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.

I guide clients toward:

  • Releasing Trauma: Trauma can leave lasting emotional and spiritual wounds. I specialize in helping clients heal from past traumas by incorporating trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR, somatic therapy, and spiritual healing practices. My goal is to guide you in releasing both the emotional and spiritual weight of trauma, allowing for deeper transformation and peace.

  • Removing Limiting Beliefs: Recognize and challenge the self-limiting beliefs that hold you back, allowing you to reframe your mindset and unlock your potential for growth and healing.

  • Empowerment through Women’s Issues: I provide a spiritually nurturing space for women to explore life transitions, personal challenges, and relationship concerns. By encouraging self-reflection and spiritual empowerment, I support women in embracing their inner strength and nurturing their spiritual and emotional well-being.

  • Coping with Chronic Pain: Chronic pain often affects both the body and spirit. Through a holistic approach, I help clients manage physical pain while also addressing the spiritual disconnection that may arise from it. Together, we work to restore harmony in body, mind, and spirit using relaxation techniques and spiritual grounding practices.

  • Handling Depression and Anxiety: I help clients explore not only the emotional and cognitive aspects of depression and anxiety but also its spiritual dimensions.  I integrate mindfulness, grounding, and spiritual practices to help clients cultivate inner peace and faith, allowing them to manage overwhelming thoughts and reconnect with their spiritual core. Together, we work to reconnect with inner purpose and light, fostering both emotional healing and spiritual awakening.

  • Improving Communication: Effective communication is essential not just in relationships, but in expressing our true selves. I guide clients in developing both practical communication skills and spiritual awareness, helping them to speak with authenticity, empathy, and compassion.

My Story

As a woman, my personal experiences shape my counseling practice, allowing me to connect with my clients in a deeply empathetic way. I’ve always been drawn to women’s health issues, not only because of my own journey but also due to the unique challenges many women face. Throughout my personal life, I’ve encountered a range of both common and rare medical conditions, which has led me to collaborate with doctors, OBGYNs, and other medical professionals when supporting clients dealing with challenges like endometriosis, vaginismus, autoimmune issues, and fertility concerns. I have extensive experience working with women facing these challenges and am happy to consult with your physician to ensure you receive comprehensive care. I believe in a team approach to treatment and am deeply invested in your healing and relief.

I began my spiritual journey several years ago, and through healing I found that being your authentic self is the only way to live. I find that spirituality also often plays a crucial role in many women’s journeys, providing a source of strength and resilience. My passion for helping women navigate these complexities is intertwined with my belief in a holistic approach to healing, which includes addressing emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions. Through this process, I aim to create space for healing that honors your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we open the door to genuine relationships and meaningful experiences. This is especially important in moments of struggle or uncertainty, where sharing our true feelings can lead to support and healing. I believe that vulnerability is essential for creativity, innovation, and personal growth, as it encourages us to take risks and step outside our comfort zones. Having gone through situation in my personal life, I also believe vulnerability points out that vulnerability is tied to courage; it takes immense bravery to share our true selves and face the possibility of judgment or rejection. By practicing vulnerability, we not only empower ourselves but also inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect of authenticity and connection in our communities.
